Jesica “Jess” Aran — Writer & Director
Nothing excites me more than crafting stories — and solving the puzzle of bringing them to life.
Hi! I'm a writer and director, best known for my work on the series Pájaros Negros (2016) and the sci-fi shortfilm Abaddon (2018). I'm also the creator of Campamento Newton (2022), a kids' live-action show that aired on Disney Spain.
I specialize in creating and delivering fiction TV shows and feature films from the ground up — leading writers' teams, shaping pitch and sales documents, and carrying projects all the way to the screen. On the side I offer my expertise as a script consultant and script doctor for companies and writers.
I've had comics published in Argentina and Italy, dabbled in developing animated series for kids, and yes — I proudly wear the badge of being a bit of a nerd.
Training
I studied TV Scriptwriting at ECAM (Spain) and took classes with James V. Hart and Thania St. John at Sundance Institute.
Recognition
My projects have been selected by the Argentine National Film Institute for production and development, and my scripts have reached finalist status at international markets including Series Mania, Conecta Fiction, MIPTV, NATPE, Pixelatl and Ventana Sur.

When I'm not at the computer writing, or at a market pitching projects, I'm shooting — here's me with my “director face” on.
